Moyasar Review

Moyasar is a Riyadh payment company that lets Saudi businesses take online payments by mada, Visa, Mastercard, American Express, UnionPay, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Samsung Pay, STC Pay and SADAD bills. Moyasar Financial Company was incorporated in 2015 and is licensed by the Saudi Central Bank (SAMA). It serves Saudi businesses only, and you need a Saudi commercial registration or freelance licence and a Saudi bank account to sign up. Pricing is not published: as of October 2026 its homepage, FAQ and product pages send you to its sales team for rates. Its own terms do set some fees. A chargeback in certain cases costs SAR 200, VAT is charged on top of its fees, and Moyasar may charge extra for an early payout. Funds settle twice a week, on Mondays and Thursdays, by default, and the terms allow up to seven working days. The developer tools are strong. You get a sandbox you can open without talking to sales, clear API docs, mobile SDKs, a WooCommerce plugin, recurring card and Apple Pay billing, split payments for platforms and a payouts API. Moyasar says it serves more than 16,000 businesses. Independent merchant reviews are scarce, so its reputation is hard to judge from outside.

Chargeback
SAR 200 per chargeback claim in the cases listed in Article Fourteen ("Fines") of Moyasar's terms (revised 16 February 2026). These include a dispute with the customer that the merchant loses, failing to answer Moyasar's purchase-information request within two working days, and a claim that a purchase was made without the customer's authorisation. Merchants onboarded through a platform sign separate platform terms (revised 14 April 2026), which set the same SAR 200 fee per lost chargeback but a three-business-day response window. VAT is added on top of Moyasar's fees.

The take

B-

Moyasar is a capable, locally licensed gateway for a Saudi business that sells online and wants mada, Apple Pay and STC Pay working through one well-documented API. The technology is the strong point. It offers recurring payments and pre-authorisation on mada, Samsung Pay, smart routing across acquirers, split payments for marketplaces and a payouts API, all hosted in the Kingdom. We hold the grade at B- for three reasons. You cannot see a single rate before talking to sales. The terms let Moyasar take up to seven working days to settle, hold funds at its discretion and charge SAR 200 on some chargebacks. And there is almost no independent merchant feedback to check its service against.

Skip if you

Want to compare published rates before you apply, need in-person card terminals, are registered outside Saudi Arabia, or sell mainly to cardholders abroad. Foreign-issued cards need Moyasar's approval and carry extra fees.

Should you choose Moyasar?

The headline take, the audiences it's right (and wrong) for, and the genuine differentiators behind the verdict.

Pros, cons, and audience

Pros

  • Licensed by the Saudi Central Bank and listed on its public register of payment companies
  • Every major Saudi method in one integration: mada, Visa, Mastercard, Amex, UnionPay, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Samsung Pay, STC Pay and SADAD
  • Strong developer tooling: open sandbox, detailed API docs, mobile SDKs and plugins for WooCommerce, Magento and Saudi platforms
  • Advanced features for the market: recurring Apple Pay on mada, pre-authorisation, split payments, a payouts API and acquirer routing
  • No fixed contract length or early-termination fee in its published terms; 30 days' notice to leave
  • Payment data and processing hosted inside Saudi Arabia

Cons

  • No published rates: as of October 2026 every price comes from the sales team
  • SAR 200 fee on chargebacks in the cases its terms list, on top of losing the disputed amount
  • Terms allow settlement in up to seven working days, with a SAR 100 minimum, and wide grounds to hold funds
  • Foreign-issued cards need Moyasar's written approval and carry extra fees; currency conversion includes a margin
  • Saudi businesses only, online only: no card terminals for in-person sales
  • Very little independent merchant feedback to judge support and reliability

What makes them different

The genuine differentiator

Moyasar runs its own payment gateway, MPG, hosted inside Saudi Arabia. It sells MPG both to merchants and, as infrastructure, to banks and other payment companies. That lets it offer recurring Apple Pay on mada, mada pre-authorisation, Samsung Pay (which Moyasar says it was the first Saudi gateway to enable) and routing between several acquirers.

What Moyasar is

Moyasar (Moyasar Financial Company) is a Saudi payment company based in Riyadh. Its own timeline says it was incorporated in 2015, signed its first bank agreement and processed its first transaction in 2016, and launched mada online payments in 2017. Some press coverage gives 2016 as the founding year, which matches that first transaction rather than incorporation. The company's chief executive is co-founder Abdulaziz Alshetwi. Basem Aljedai is also a co-founder. Moyasar funded itself from revenue until 2024. That March it announced a SAR 78.75 million ($21 million) seed round at the LEAP conference. Most reports, including a MarketScreener summary of Jahez's own disclosure, name the food delivery group Jahez as lead investor, with Derayah participating. Arabian Business also lists Sharaka Capital as a participant. One outlet, Inc. Arabia, names Derayah Ventures as lead instead. Moyasar's own timeline dates the round's close to 2023. No stake sizes were disclosed, so we describe these as investors rather than owners. Jahez is also a large Moyasar customer.

In an interview given at LEAP 2026 and published by Arabian Business in September 2026, Moyasar said it serves more than 16,000 businesses and processes more than 30% of Saudi Arabia's online payments. It also said payment volume has grown about 110% a year for three years and that it has been profitable for each of the last three years. All of these are the company's own figures. The article noted that the market-share figure could not be independently verified, and Moyasar did not publish its revenue or volume. It refreshed its brand identity in November 2025.

Licences, and why we list it as a payment facilitator

Moyasar is regulated by the Saudi Central Bank, and its website footer says it operates under SAMA's control and supervision. As of 16 October 2026, SAMA's public register lists Moyasar Financial (unified number 7010466964) as an Electronic Money Institution, licensed until 15 July 2031. The Arabic version of the register describes the same entry as e-wallet services. The register sorts companies only into payment institutions, electronic money institutions and e-commerce payment services, so the difference is between the two categories, not just the word "major". Moyasar describes its licence differently. Its about page says it was the first company to receive a payment institution licence directly from SAMA, in 2022, and that it upgraded to a major payment institution licence in 2025. A September 2026 Arabian Business article also says it holds a Major Payment Institution licence. We could not reconcile the register's classification with the company's description, so we report both. In 2026 Moyasar said it had in-principle approval from the UAE central bank for a Retail Payment Services Category II licence and a Stored Value Facilities licence. In-principle approval is not a licence to operate.

Moyasar's documentation describes two kinds of merchant. Aggregation merchants, the default for businesses that sign up through its site, sign Moyasar's terms. Moyasar collects their payments, deducts its fees and VAT, and settles to their Saudi bank account on its own schedule. It can also hold or recover their funds. That is the payment facilitator model, which is how we classify it. Facilitation merchants have their own merchant account with an acquiring bank and use Moyasar only as the gateway, and they get their settlement files from their bank. Moyasar also sells its gateway infrastructure to banks and other payment companies, but that is not what a typical merchant buys.

What it costs

Moyasar publishes no price list. As of October 2026 its homepage, FAQ and product pages all say fees and rates come from the sales team, based on your business and volume, so rates are quoted per account. We have not seen a quote and do not print third-party estimates as Moyasar's prices. Prices are in Saudi riyals. The terms say Moyasar deducts its fees and the value-added tax on those fees from each settlement, so VAT is charged on top of its fees rather than included. The standard rate in Saudi Arabia is 15%.

The terms do fix some charges. There is a SAR 200 fee on chargeback claims in the cases they list, an unstated extra fee for being paid before your scheduled settlement day, and unstated additional fees for accepting cards issued outside Saudi Arabia. The multi-currency documentation says processing fees depend on the payment method and card scheme rather than the currency. Payments in foreign currencies are converted to SAR at a fixed rate Moyasar sets, which includes a foreign exchange margin. The terms also bar you from passing fees or VAT on to the cardholder, so you cannot add a card surcharge.

For a Saudi merchant the mada price matters most, because mada is the domestic debit scheme. Published figures for mada fee caps disagree. SAMA's published mada rules show one set of caps, while banks' and other gateways' current tariffs show different ones. We found no SAMA circular settling which applies. Ask Moyasar for its mada price in writing, including any fixed per-transaction fee, and compare it with written quotes from other Saudi gateways.

How it works

Anyone can register for the dashboard and test in a sandbox without speaking to sales. To take live payments you submit an activation form. Moyasar reviews what you sell, your prices and refund policy and how customers can contact you, and says approval typically takes 2 to 5 business days. You need a Saudi commercial registration or freelance licence and a Saudi bank account. Your website does not have to be live when you apply, but it must be ready before you go live.

Payments can come through a hosted checkout page, an embeddable form you can brand, payment links and invoices, mobile SDKs, or the REST API. The documentation is detailed and public, and Moyasar maintains plugins for WooCommerce, Magento 2, OpenCart, PrestaShop and nopCommerce. Its FAQ lists Zid, Qawafel, Mahd and Motgara as supported Saudi platforms. The WooCommerce plugin had more than 1,000 active installations and a 4-out-of-5 rating from seven reviews on WordPress.org as of October 2026. Payment methods include mada, Visa, Mastercard, American Express and UnionPay cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Samsung Pay, STC Pay and SADAD bill payments. Moyasar also mentions OmanNet and Meeza. It offers 3D Secure, card tokenisation, recurring billing and authorise-then-capture. The dashboard handles refunds, invoices and team roles. Platforms can onboard sub-merchants and split payments, and a separate payouts API sends money to banks, wallets and cards. Moyasar is an online gateway: it does not sell card terminals for in-person payments.

Moyasar first announced its own gateway, MPG, alongside its eMSP certification in June 2024, and describes its official launch as June 2025. Moyasar says it was the first Saudi gateway to enable Samsung Pay through a direct integration, with the delivery app Jahez in 2025, and that MPG supports recurring payments and pre-authorisation on mada. It also offers routing across several acquirers to raise approval rates and cut costs. Its claimed uplift of up to 10% is a vendor figure we could not check.

Settlement and payouts

Moyasar's settlement guide says it pays aggregation merchants twice a week, on Monday and Thursday, unless the merchant's agreement says otherwise. Its terms and conditions are looser. They say transaction amounts will be transferred within seven working days, after fees and VAT, once the amount due is at least SAR 100, and that this period does not apply to funds held for verification. Merchants onboarded through a platform such as Zid sign separate platform terms (revised 14 April 2026). Those set settlement on Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday, again within seven business days of the balance reaching SAR 100. Each settlement comes with an emailed CSV, PDF and invoice, and the data is also available through the API. Being paid early is possible on request, and the terms say an additional fee may apply. Refunds reach mada cards in 24 hours to 3 business days and credit cards in 7 to 14 business days, according to Moyasar's FAQ.

Contract terms, holds and chargebacks

The public terms, last revised 16 February 2026, set no fixed term and no early-termination fee. You can leave at any time with 30 days' written notice. You stay liable for any monthly fees incurred up to then, and for obligations from before you leave. Moyasar must give at least 30 days' notice by text message before changing the terms (Art. 3). It can change your prices by written notice, and the change binds you unless you object within 30 working days. You must flag errors within 30 business days of a transaction, or it is treated as correct (Art. 10.5). A separate clause treats fees as accepted if you do not object in writing within 30 days of the account statement (Art. 13.7). Moyasar can also end the service for any legitimate reason with reasonable notice (Art. 18.1).

The terms give Moyasar wide powers over your money. It can hold funds for verification when you issue a refund, when it thinks deferring settlement would prevent a loss, when you breach the terms, when you are judged high credit risk, or when it suspects fraud or needs anti-money-laundering checks. It can recover a negative balance from your next transactions. It can suspend an account temporarily, with written notice, after 90 days without activity (Art. 11.1). Its FAQ is softer on this point, saying an inactive account stays active and the team will reach out after three months. It can also suspend for suspected fraud, for repeated chargebacks, or if you do not send requested documents. You must answer its questions about a disputed payment within two working days (Art. 13.1; three business days under the platform terms). A chargeback in the cases the terms list costs SAR 200. Moyasar's liability is limited to gross negligence or wilful misconduct, and then to direct damages. Disputes go to the courts in Riyadh under Saudi law, and the Arabic text prevails.

Reputation and complaints

There is little independent merchant feedback on Moyasar in English. It is a Saudi business-to-business provider, and we found no Trustpilot profile for moyasar.com. The WooCommerce plugin's seven WordPress.org ratings, five of them five-star, are too few to mean much. Searches in English and Arabic found no lawsuit, SAMA penalty or other enforcement action naming Moyasar. The company describes a formal complaints process: tickets are numbered, handled within SAMA's timeframes, and can be escalated to SAMA if unresolved. That route exists because Moyasar is regulated. It does not show that complaints are handled well, and we could not test that from outside.

One small inconsistency: Moyasar's website and FAQ give 800 111 1848 as the support number, while its terms give 800 100 0181 for technical support and breach reports. Check which line you should use when you onboard.

Who Moyasar suits

Moyasar suits a Saudi-registered business that sells online, wants every local payment method through one integration, and has a developer or a supported platform. It fits SaaS and subscription businesses that need recurring mada and Apple Pay billing, and marketplaces and delivery apps that need split payments and payouts. It is a weaker fit if you want to compare published prices before applying, sell mainly to customers abroad, need in-person terminals, or need guaranteed next-day funding. Get the full fee schedule, settlement schedule and any reserve or hold terms in writing before you sign, because the public terms leave all three largely to Moyasar's discretion.

Processing Rates

International

Moyasar publishes no international rate. Its terms say a merchant may not accept cards issued outside Saudi Arabia without Moyasar's approval. To get approval you apply in writing with expected volumes and the countries you want, and sign a request that releases Moyasar from fraud risk. The terms say approved cross-border acceptance carries additional fees. Separately, accounts can be enabled to charge in AED, BHD, KWD, QAR and USD. Those payments still settle in SAR at a fixed rate set by Moyasar that includes a foreign exchange margin, as of October 2026.

Cancellation Process

Moyasar's public terms and conditions (last revised 16 February 2026) set no fixed contract length and no early-termination fee. You may end the agreement at any time with 30 days' written notice, but you remain liable for any monthly fees incurred up to termination. Either side can terminate for a material breach, and Moyasar may also end the service for any legitimate reason with reasonable notice (Art. 18.1). Revoking your authorisation for Moyasar to process payments on your behalf needs at least 30 business days' written notice (Art. 17.15). Moyasar can suspend an account at once if it believes the merchant is breaking the rules or poses a risk. It can then terminate if the problem is not fixed within 30 working days of notice. It can also suspend an account temporarily, with written notice, after 90 days without activity, for suspected fraud, for repeated chargebacks, or when the merchant does not supply requested documents. Moyasar may change its prices by written notice, and the change binds you unless you object within 30 working days. Transaction and fee errors must be reported within 30 business days of the transaction (Art. 10.5), and a separate clause treats fees as accepted if no written objection is made within 30 days of the account statement (Art. 13.7). The terms are governed by Saudi law, with disputes going to the courts in Riyadh after 90 days of negotiation. The Arabic version prevails over the English one. If you sign a separate agreement with sales, its terms may differ, so read it before you sign.
